Research in pharmaceutical biosciences

The research groups use a wide range of methods and techniques for the study of pharmaceutical drugs. The experimental research includes studies on gene and protein expressions to elucidate mechanisms of drug actions and adverse effects. Other research groups examine the kinetics of pharmaceutical drugs or drug-induced behavioral changes. Our studies are performed in cultured cells and tissues but also in the intact organism. Several research groups develop methods and computer based tools useful to the pharmaceutical industry, while others study social issues like the adverse effects of environmental contaminants or drug dependency and addiction.
